Tresha Lionel

Tresha Lionel is a Saint Lucian Island Scholar, writer, law student and Chief Editor and journalist at Buckingham News. Tresha started her career in media as a reporter, moved to news anchor and director before becoming the host and co-producer of the talk show, Mornings with Tresha Lionel, which focused on political and social issues.

Tresha has been awarded the National Youth Award for Poetry, the Derek Walcott Prize at the Word Alive Competition, and her work has been longlisted for the 2023 Commonwealth Short Story Prize. Inspired by her mother, grandmother and her hometown, Vieux-Fort, Tresha is currently working on a collection of essays exploring the social issues and realities of her home country. Toni Morrison’s quote serves as a beautiful reminder: ‘Your life is already artful—waiting, just waiting for you to make it art.’
