Simar Preet Kaur

Simar Preet Kaur is a writer based in the Indian Himalayas. Her stories appear in National Geographic Traveler and Papercuts. She was also the editor of JetWings travel magazine. Since 2013, Simar has been working on a mountain project – a book researched and written in collaboration with truck drivers along the high-altitude Manali-Leh Highway – for which she received the 2022 PEN America/Jean Stein Grant for Literary Oral History. She was awarded a Literature Fellowship at Akademie Schloss Solitude, Germany in 2018 and the British Council’s Charles Wallace Fellowship at University of Stirling,
