Shikha Tripathi is a journalist based in Uttarakhand, specialising in outdoor writing and Himalayan ecology with an added interest in culture, sustainable travel, and social stories. Her travel stories appear in a wide variety of publications such as the National Geographic Traveller, Conde Nast Traveller, Lonely Planet, and more. Her environmental and social interest stories have appeared in newspapers such The Hindu, DNA, and on platforms such as Nature InFocus. Born and brought up in the Himalayas, she is a qualified mountaineer and has participated in mountaineering expeditions in the Himalayas. Her mountaineering stories have also appeared in The Outdoor Journal and online on the Red Bull forum. She has also recently authored a children’s book on Northeast India’s first female Everester, Tine Mena, for the NGO Pratham.
