Leticia Alvarez

Leticia is a trilingual, twenty-two-year-old Canadian-Colombian living in New Zealand, studying law, English and politics. Her fiction draws on questions that emerged from living in two post-empire countries and from reckoning with the colonial past and the religious society of her Hispanic origin. She is interested in themes of memory, migration, identity and the power dynamics influencing relationships. She draws from her experience in commercial law and her work with migrants, refugees and elderly patients, as well as the contacts she makes as a swimming instructor, librarian and blogger.
