Christy Ann Conlin is a writer, storyteller and end-of-life doula, focusing on vigil, companioning and legacy work. She is the author of two acclaimed novels, Heave and The Speed of Mercy. Heave was a finalist for the Amazon First Novel Award. Her short fiction collection, Watermark, was a finalist for the Danuta Gleed Literary Award, and her stories have been longlisted for the Commonwealth Short Story Prize and the American Short Fiction Prize and have been featured in Best Canadian Stories. Christy Ann has an MFA from the University of British Columbia in screenplay writing and is currently a student in the Grief and Bereavement Program at the University of Toronto. She was born and raised in seaside Nova Scotia and spent a long time working in a pie factory and strawberry fields. She still resides in Nova Scotia with her sprawling intergenerational family.
