Rasiah Yuvendra’s pen name is Thirukovil Kaviyuvan. He was born at Thirukkovil in Ampara District, Sri Lanka, and has a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from the University of Moratuwa. Thirukovil Kaviyuvan is now employed in the Zonal Education office in Thirukkovil. He published Vaaldhal Enpathu (What living means …), a collection of short stories, in 1996. 

திருக்கோவில் கவியுவன் என்னும் புனை பெயருடன் எழுதி வரும் இவர், இலங்கையின் அம்பாறை மாவட்டத்தில்திருக்கோவில் என்னும் ஊரில் பிறந்தவர். இலங்கை மொறட்டுவப் பல்கலைக்கழகத்தில் பொறியியல் பட்டம் பெற்ற இவரின்சிறுகதைகள் “வாழ்தல்  என்பது ” என்னும் தலைப்பில் 1996 ம் ஆண்டில் தொகுதியாக வெளிவந்துள்ளது. தற்போதுதிருக்கொவில் வலயக் கல்வி அலுவலகத்தில் பணி புரிந்து கொண்டிருக்கின்றார்.
