Omer Friedlander grew up in Tel-Aviv and currently lives in Brooklyn. He has a BA in English Literature from the University of Cambridge and an MFA from Boston University where he was the Saul Bellow Fellow in Fiction. He was awarded first place in The Baltimore Review Winter Contest and the Shmuel Traum Literary Translation Prize. He was a finalist for the Lamar York Prize and the Porter House Review Editor’s Prize. In September, he will begin a second MFA in Fiction at New York University as a Starworks Fellow. His writing has been supported by the Bread Loaf Work-Study Scholarship, Vermont Studio Center Fellowship, Virginia Center for the Creative Arts Fellowship, Tin House Summer and Winter Workshops, Eckerd College Writers Conference Standiford Fellowship, Kenyon Review Writers Workshop, Juniper Institute, Craigarden Fellowship and others. He is represented by literary agent Janet Silver.
