Lloyd D’Aguilar is a well-known human rights activist in Jamaica. He stood out as a defender of the people who were brutally attacked in Tivoli Gardens by the security forces in 2010. He has for several years been campaigning against police extrajudicial killings for which Jamaica has a high rate as noted by several international human rights organizations. Lloyd is also known as a radio journalist, having worked at three radio stations in Jamaica and at WBAI Radio in New York where he started his radio experience. He is currently campaigning against state corruption and on behalf of a young lady whose Rasta locks were cut while in police lockup.
