Christine Coates holds an MA in Creative Writing from the University of Cape Town. She has three collections of poetry. Her debut collection Homegrown (Modjaji Books, 2014), received an honourable mention from the Glenna Luschei Prize. Her short stories have been highly commended and anthologised: Short.Sharp.Stories anthology, Short Story Day Africa anthology, The Short Story is Dead, Long Live the Short Story, Kalahari Short Story, and Everyday Journal. Her debut collection The Cat’s Wife and Other Stories is due later in 2022.
